This prestigious restaurant shares its spacious car park with Burgh's Grade 1 listed windmill - which provides the flour for the home baked bread served here. Frank, the chef/proprietor has vast experience gained in Germany, Switzerland and some of the finest hotels and restaurants in England. He is one of only a select band of Master Chefs in Great Britain and is ably assisted by his wife, Janet. They pride themselves in providing "real food" and fine service in well spaced and comfortable surroundings, using only the best, fresh and local ingredients from top suppliers.

The Magpies is a short stroll away from Horncastle town centre on the main route between Lincoln & Skegness in the conservation area of The Lincolnshire Wolds and Tennyson country.<>The Magpies exterior has been newly painted in ‘Magpies’ colours. <> <>Caroline heads front of house with an efficient and experienced team. Andrew her partner and his team in the kitchen continue to use top quality mainly local produce resulting in a modern British/French output. <> <>The L-shaped dining room has seating for 34 covers. There is soft lighting with candles and fresh flowers on white linen covered tables. There is a wood burning stove for cooler months in the honey and russet coloured lounge, and for warmer months the opportunity to sit in the courtyard which is decked with large pots of olive trees and shrubs, ideal for aperitifs or fresh coffee and home made petit fours. <> <>Now in their second year at Horncastle apart from dinner, Caroline and Andrew have started to open by popular request for lunch as well as offering a monthly gourmet evening and special events.
